Was there any surprise to this choosing The number 1 spot is......Back to the Future, This movie is the definitive of classic, loved by many and can be enjoyed by everyone. Back to the future is a movie that has everything Romance, comedy, drama, foot tapping music, and action. We are introduced to Marty McFly (Micheal J Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd), one of the most iconic duo's in cinema. The lovely Lea Thompson as Lorraine Baines, Crispin Glover playing the dorky George Mcfly, and Thomas F Wilson playing the bully Biff Tannen. For Romance you have Marty and his girlfriend Jennifer Parker (Claudia Wells). She supports Marty through thick and thin and boosts his confidence whenever he feels small, but that's not the relationship I'm talking about. When introduced to Marty's parents we see a loser George being harassed by biff  and can't stand up for himself. For Lorraine we see her as a little chubby alcoholic. When Marty goes back in time we see...

The force is strong with this one

If this was a personal list this would be number 1 as it is from my favorite Trilogy of all time Star Wars, more specifically "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back". Ill try to keep it short as I could talk about Star Wars for hours. I would put the whole Trilogy on here, but sadly the Original movie: "A New Hope" was made in 1977 so not from the 80s, and as for "Return Of The Jedi"...I can only put one movie per spot. The Empire Strikes Back is one of those movies that really live up to expectations. It's one of the best squeals ever created and added more to what was told in the original story. The film still stars its original cast of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Harrison ford as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa, Anthony Daniels as C-3P0, James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader, Kenny Baker as R2-D2, and Alec Guinness as Ben Kenobi (Obi-Wan Kenobi) as well as ORIGINALLY introducing 4 new characters. Lando Calrissian played b...

You want to talk to God?

Everyone's favorite whip carrying archaeologist Indiana Jones, but more specifically the first film "Raiders of the lost Ark". Indiana Jones stars Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood, Paul Freeman as Dr. Rene Belloq and Ronald Lacey as Major Arnold Ernst Toht Raiders of the lost Ark is more than digging up lost history. Its about the adventures that take place while looking for them. In the first scene we see Jones exploring the jungle when he stumbles upon the temple of Peru to retrieve the Golden Idol. The temple is extremely booby trapped to wear even shadows can make them go off. In the room with the Idle he must tip toe to avoid setting of the poisonous darts and must carefully replace the Golden Idol with a bag of sand that weighs the same. This being the beginning of the film we know Jones isn't going to die, but we can't felt but tighten our muscles as we feel his stress and how precise he must be as one mistake could poss...

1.....2.....Freddys coming for you......

With Halloween around the corner its only appropriate to talk about the king of nightmares himself: Freddy Krueger's Nightmare on Elm Street. Nightmare on Elm Street is the first in the series and leaves quite an impression upon first viewing, making us never want to sleep. The story's main focus of characters are Tina Gray (Amanda Wyss), Rod Lane (Jsu Garcia), Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp), and her parents Donald Thompson (John Saxon) her father, and Marge Thompson (Ronee Blakley) her mother, and Nancy's boyfriend Glen Lantz (Johnny Depp), and of course Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) . Nightmare on Elm Street starts off with Tina being chased in a boiler room being chased by an airy figure with knives for fingers. She is almost over taken by the figure before she wakes up revealing to be a dream giving the audience the fear that sleeping can be fatal. Nightmare on Elm Street fatalities are done in frightening ways and add new elements to horror. Before this ...

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Image
Think back to your most boring high school days, maybe even middle school where all you kept thinking was "I'd rather be anywhere else but here". Well that's what Ferris Bueller had thought in doing so has given us what we can accomplish with a little teamwork and manipulation. Ferris Bueller's day off is a film that showcases Ferris Bueller's (Matthew Broderick) final days of senior year in which he decides he wants one more day of glory and who could do that while in school. He can't pull it off alone though so he convinces his best friend Cameron Frye (Alan Ruck) to assist him getting his girlfriend Sloane Peterson (Mia Sara) out of school while trying to outsmart principle Edward Rooney (Jeffery Jones) and Ferris's sister Jeanie (Jennifer Grey) . Ferris represents our rebellious and calm side when things go our way or when its not and we think that it will be in the end. In reality if we were to try this most of us wouldn't even get passe...

I'm Batman

Coming out of the shadows is the caped crusader himself, Batman (1989) Batman was the first live action film for the dark knight and yes, everyone has their preferred Batman ranging from 1960s Adam West all the way to current day Ben Affleck, but yet this one is still remembered fondly. The casting is practically flawless the talented Micheal Keaton surprising everyone with the serious tone Bruce Wayne while at the time Keaton was labeled as a comedic actor. The menacing Jack Nicholson and the manacle Joker, Nicholson acting is over the top, funny, and at times scary. His performance has shown how the threatening the joker could be if he came out of the pages of the comics. We also have the lovely Kim Basinger as Vicky Vale, Bruce's love interest, shes the gorgeous curious journalist that has a funny feeling about Bruce Wayne, and shell do anything t find out what it is.  At first glance we are put into a dark atmospheric crime driven city, a great depiction of Gotham City. V...

They drew first blood not me

Up next is the Vietnam veteran himself, John Rambo. At first glance, average action movie muscle man, John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone), goes around causing mayhem but there’s more than meets the eye. The film opens up with Rambo going to visit a friend he had during the war only to find out he had died from cancer from exposure to chemicals during the war. We already understand that Stallone’s alone, so we sympathize with him as we see that he walks down a road, with no one by his side. Rambo continues walking till he finds a small town in Washington. He meets the town's Sheriff, Will Teasle (Brian Dennehy) who is suspicious of Rambo and tells him to not return after giving him a ride. This sets up the conflict as Rambo means no harm and attempts to walk back for some food only to get arrested. We, the audience, feel like Rambo is being judged because he is an outsider and the police don't really know him. Our blood only continues to boil when they abuse Rambo at the p...
